Description
Apple Device Support & macOS Support Essentials is a three-day course that teaches the best ways to support macOS 26 (Tahoe) & iOS/iPadOS 26 users.
The course includes lectures, demonstrations, group discussions, and hands-on exercises that provide real-world experience. The course takes you deep inside macOS and iOS/iPadOS, offering in-depth, step-by-step guidance on everything from installing and configuring macOS/iOS/iPadOS to managing networks and system administration.
Through practical, hands-on lessons, you’ll learn how to set up users, configure system preferences, manage security and permissions, use diagnostic and repair tools, troubleshoot peripheral devices, and more: all you need to professionally support macO and systematically prepare for Apple Device Support Exam (SUP-2026-ENU).

- How to use macOS, iOS/iPadOS tools and resources to troubleshoot macOS

- How to prepare for the Apple Device Support Exam (SUP-2026-ENU)
Course topics:
- Installation and Configuration Participants learn to update, upgrade, and reinstall macOS, then set up and configure macOS on an individual Mac. Participants are introduced to the command-line interface and macOS Recovery.
- Deployment & Management Participants learn the basic concepts of Apple Business/School Manager & MDM (This is discussed extensively in our Apple Deployment & Management training)
- User Accounts Participants learn to manage user accounts and user home folders. They also learn about macOS security and password management.
- File Systems and Storage Participants learn to manage file systems, storage, encryption, permissions, and file sharing.
- Data Management Participants use hidden items, shortcuts, file archives, metadata, and Spotlight. They also learn to manage system resources and Time Machine.
- Apps and Processes Participants install, manage, and troubleshoot apps, and manage documents.
- Network Configuration Participants manage basic and advanced network settings and troubleshoot network issues.
- Network Services Participants manage network services, host sharing, and a personal firewall.
- Security & Privacy Participants learn about all kinds of security concepts such as FileVault & Data encryption, Gatekeeper, Notarization, Quarantine, XProtect, Lockdown Mode, Firewall and more, but also how to ensure user privacy.
- System Management Participants manage printers and scanners, then troubleshoot peripherals, startup, and other system issues.
- Supporting iOS & iPadOS Participants learn how to support iOS & iPadOS
- Apple Account & iCloud Participants learn the functionality of iCloud and Apple Accounts & Managed Apple Accounts
At the moment, we’re not able to facilitate the exams ourselves. Exams can currently only be taken at home or in a quiet, private space at the office, with a remote proctor monitoring via your Mac’s webcam and microphone, or at a Pearson VUE test center.
