Apple Security and Compliance

Description

This training takes you through the entire Apple security stack, providing both theoretical knowledge and practical hands-on experience with real-world scenarios. You’ll progress from fundamental security concepts to advanced implementation of the macOS Security Compliance Project.

The course is structured to build your expertise across all security domains:

• Hardware security features including Apple silicon, Secure Enclave, and secure boot processes
• System Integrity Protection, Signed System Volume, and Lockdown Mode configuration
• FileVault encryption implementation, recovery key management, and secure data wiping
• App security testing with sandboxing, Gatekeeper, XProtect, and privacy permissions
• Network security including MAC address randomization, firewall settings, and Private Relay
• Enterprise security monitoring using the Endpoint Security Framework and unified logging
• Practical implementation of the macOS Security Compliance Project for regulatory requirements

Each module combines essential theory with hands-on exercises where you’ll configure security settings, test security barriers, analyze system behavior, and validate your configurations using both GUI and command-line tools.

What you will learn:

• Configure and test hardware security features like Secure Boot and recovery options
• Manage System Integrity Protection and implement Lockdown Mode
• Deploy FileVault with appropriate recovery strategies for enterprise environments
• Test application security barriers and understand privacy permission frameworks

Prerequisites

• Working knowledge of macOS and iOS
• Basic familiarity with Terminal/command line interface
• Completion of Apple Device Support & macOS Support Essentials is beneficial but not required

You will be performing hands-on exercises on an Apple MacBook. Remote participants should have access to an Apple MacBook (macOS Sonoma or later) during the training sessions.
